Despite growing up in a family where three of his four siblings are also dentists, Dr. Nguyen’s path into dentistry was not immediate. He began his healthcare career as a registered nurse, working in the field for six years before entering dental school.
During his time as a nurse, Dr. Nguyen witnessed firsthand how oral health directly affects overall health and quality of life. He cared for many patients who relied on feeding tubes because they could no longer eat due to severe dental infections, ill-fitting dentures, or untreated oral disease. These experiences left a lasting impression and highlighted the critical importance of preventative and restorative dental care.
Eventually, Dr. Nguyen began shadowing in his older brother’s dental office, where he observed how dentistry could dramatically improve patients’ comfort, confidence, and daily lives—especially for those struggling with anxiety or fear. Seeing the impact of compassionate dentistry inspired him to pursue the profession himself.
