Skipping cleanings is one of the most expensive decisions dental patients make. Plaque hardens into tartar within 24–48 hours — and once it does, brushing alone can’t remove it. Over months and years, this leads to gum disease, cavities, and eventually tooth loss — all of which cost significantly more to treat than a routine cleaning.
At Charm Dental Katy, a new patient visit is more than just a cleaning. It’s a full examination, digital X-rays, a cancer screening, and a personalized treatment roadmap — all included in our $99 new patient offer. Our team will flag anything that needs attention early, before it becomes an emergency.
Whether you’re overdue by 6 months or 6 years — we don’t judge. We just help you get back on track.

A new patient visit may include an exam, any needed X-rays, and a cleaning if appropriate. After the visit, the team can explain any findings and recommend the next step based on your oral health needs.
Most new patient appointments take 60–90 minutes. This includes your exam, X-rays, cleaning, and a brief consultation with the doctor about your treatment plan and any concerns.
Absolutely not. Our team has seen it all and we never make patients feel bad about gaps in their dental care. Our job is to help you get back on track not to lecture you.
Charm Dental Care accepts insurance and can help verify your benefits before your visit. Coverage varies by plan, so the office can review what may be covered and explain expected costs.
Most patients should be seen every 6 months. However, patients with gum disease, a history of heavy tartar buildup, or other conditions may benefit from more frequent cleanings — every 3–4 months. We’ll recommend what’s right for you.
A regular (prophylaxis) cleaning removes plaque and tartar from above and just below the gumline. A deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) goes further below the gumline and is recommended when gum disease is present. Our exam will determine which you need.
